Context:
Renovation of a residential building constructed in 1965 to change its use to a tourist apartment building.
Solution:
Difficulties in demolishing the building, arising from its effects on the existing electrical grid, prompted a change of strategy toward a full refurbishment of the property to adapt it into a tourist apartment building.
The intervention consisted of structural consolidation of the building, renewal of its systems, improved energy efficiency and the updating of its spaces to current design and comfort standards. The result is a contemporary, flexible and functional apartment building, suitable for short as well as medium- and long-term stays, with spacious, bright day areas and excellent natural ventilation.
